The Nigerian government has introduced specialized Higher National Diploma (HND) programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), alongside other fields like Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Networking.

This initiative, led by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), aims to align Nigeria’s education sector with global technological advancements and boost digital skills for economic growth. 

The recent reports indicate this move is part of a broader effort to position Nigeria as a leader in the digital economy, with additional programs like the AI Academy and DeepTech_Ready offering free AI training to youths.

The AI Academy in Nigeria is a federal government initiative launched to equip citizens, particularly youths, with cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) skills to drive innovation and position Nigeria as a leader in the global digital economy. 

It is a collaborative effort involving the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and Intel Corporation.
