PSC Announces Next Phase for Police Constable and Specialist Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has revealed the forthcoming stage in the recruitment process for Police Constables and Specialists. April 16, 2024, marks the initiation of medical screenings for shortlisted applicants. This strategic decision, conveyed by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, aims to accommodate religious observances, specifically the conclusion of the Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian Lenten period.

Spanning a two-week duration, this phase represents the final step in the recruitment exercise. In addition to the primary applicants, specialist candidates, who previously underwent physical and credentials screenings, will participate in practical assessments and medical screenings during this period.

Screening activities are set to occur across the 17 zonal command headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as in Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara States. These regions, facing distinct security challenges, have been accorded special considerations. Candidates from these areas will undergo screenings and practical tests in their respective states of origin. Furthermore, police colleges situated in states hosting zonal command headquarters will serve as supplementary venues for the assessments.

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the Police Recruitment Board will furnish shortlisted candidates with comprehensive details regarding screening locations and timings. Successful candidates from the medical screening phase will advance to Police Colleges for mandatory training, marking a crucial milestone in their journey toward joining the Nigeria Police Force.
