The scheme was to commence in October 2023 but implementation was repeatedly deferred until a re-enactment in April 2024.
NELFUND recently scheduled the opening of the loan application and issuance portal for May 24.

Eligibility:
– Students in federal institutions (universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, technical schools)

– JAMB admission letter
– National Identification Number (NIN)
– Bank Verification Number (BVN)
4. Complete the application:

– Academic information
– Financial need

How to apply for the Nigeria Student loan programme in 2024
The NELFUND student loan application portal opens on May 24th, 2024. To apply, you’ll need your:
JAMB registration number
National Identity Number (NIN)
Bank Verification Number (BVN)
Student matriculation or registration number.
