1. Head to the Portal: Visit the NIMC Self-Service Modifications portal at https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng

2. Log In or Register: If you're a new user, click on "Register" to create an account. Existing users can simply log in using their NIN, last name, and email address.

3. Navigate to Date of Birth Modification: Once logged in, locate the section for "Date of Birth Modification" on your dashboard.

4. Secure Payment: Proceed with the secure payment for the modification process using Paystack.

5. Validate NPC Certificate: After payment, enter your NPC certificate number and validate it. This will automatically populate your date of birth (which cannot be edited).

6. Missing Birth Certificate? If you've misplaced your birth certificate, you can perform birth attestation online at http://nationalpopulation.gov.ng/.

7. Upload Supporting Documents: Upload a scanned copy of your NPC certificate along with any other required supporting documents.

8. Submit and Review: Double-check your information, then submit your modification request. You'll be able to preview the adjustments before finalizing.

9. Attestation Confirmation: Make sure to tick the attestation checkbox before submitting your request.
