#NigeriaDecides2023: Peter Obi Overtakes Tinubu, Wins 22 And 11 Votes In Katsina State Voting Units, According To INEC

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and a candidate for president of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of the presidential election in Katsina State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu won in all five of the state's Local Government Areas (LGAs), including Ingawa, Kurfi, Katsina Kaita, Katsina Musawa, and Katsina Chiranchi.

Tinubu defeated the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate with 11,793 votes in Katsina Kaita LGA with 14,595 votes. With 799 votes, the candidate for the National Rescue Movement (NNPP) came in third, while the candidate for the Labour Party (LP) only received 22 votes.

Similarly, Tinubu defeated the PDP candidate in Katsina Musawa LGA with 14,360 votes, while the NNPP and LP candidates received 2,033 and 11 votes, respectively.

Tinubu received 12,779 votes in the Katsina Chiranchi LGA, while the PDP candidate received 8,202 votes. With 609 votes, the NNPP candidate finished third, while the LP candidate received only 10 votes.

Tinubu defeated the PDP candidate with 12,152 votes in Ingawa LGA with 12,315 votes. While the LP candidate received 47 votes, the NNPP candidate received 3,388 votes.

Finally, Tinubu won Kurfi LGA with 19,139 votes, followed by the PDP candidate with 15,747 votes, the NNPP candidate with 1,036 votes, and the LP candidate with 16, respectively.

Because Katsina is the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is widely regarded as the most influential politician in the state, Tinubu's victory in that state is considered to be a significant boost to his presidential campaign.
