Nigerian Air Force Recruitment: Guide on How to Apply Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC)

The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a type of commission in the NAF which is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The Course provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who are professionals in specified fields. Training period for this type of commission is usually 6 months of intensive military training and successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer.

Note: Online Registration starts on 19 December 2022 and closes on 30 January 2023.

General Instructions for Applicants

Nationality: Nigerian citizens by birth, and possess national identity card/NIN or BVN

Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years by 14 October 2023 (25 - 40)

Marital Status: All applicants must be single

 Height: Minimum height is 1.66 metresfor males and 1.63 metresfor females

Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically and physical fit

Local Government Area Attestation Form: must be signed

Letter of Attestation of Good Character: must be provided

Presentation of original credentials: Must be submitted

Applicant suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified

Completed Application Forms: must print out

Invitation for Interview: Only successful applicants
