The minister also allowed the telecom companies to start registering citizens for non-cardholders for convenience.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, paid an unannounced visit to the NIMC Citizenship Registration Center in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to monitor and ensure that the registration process is conducted in an orderly manner.

Last month, Communications Minister Sheikh Pantami instructed all citizens to combine their lines with their nationality cards to clean up all lines of the nation.

All lines that are not connected to the national identity card will be closed, as soon as the deadline expires, so that any lines used by terrorists can be identified across the country.

The minister also gave the telecommunications companies the opportunity to start registering citizens for those who do not have a card for convenience.
