Beware of a Dangerous Job Scam Targeting Job Seekers!

Scam Alert Details

At 6:42 AM today, Sunday, August 03, 2025, a suspicious message was received, allegedly from Mr. Sami Aina, Executive Secretary for the Permanent Secretary CSF. 

The email claimed the recipient was shortlisted for a job at the CDCIFB (Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board) after a CV review. 

However, it demanded a "consultancy clearance" payment of NGN1,270.00 and promised a provisional job offer and posting letter within two weeks.

Why It’s a Scam

• Unrequested Payment: Legitimate employers never charge for job clearances or appointments.

• Vague Information: Lacks specific job details or verifiable contacts.

• Urgent Pressure: Pushes for quick action without proper verification.

• Risky Attachment: The "illustrative attachment" (Click On) may contain malware or phishing links.

This scam targets hopeful job seekers by mimicking official government communications. The use of titles and agency names like CDCIFB adds credibility, but the payment demand is a clear red flag.
