The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the 2025/2026 Technical Teachers Training Programme (TTTP), a tuition-free Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) designed to empower secondary school teachers in technical and vocational fields. 

This initiative, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Education’s Department of Technology and Science Education, aims to enhance teaching quality, align educators with modern industry standards, and boost Nigeria’s technical education system.

Duration: One-year PGDE programme

Equip teachers with modern pedagogical tools to prepare students for 21st-century industry needs

Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria), University of Nigeria (Nsukka), Federal University of Technology (Minna), University of Benin, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (Bauchi), and Adeyemi Federal University of Education (Ondo)

Eligibility Criteria:

- Current teachers of technical or vocational subjects in public secondary schools or colleges

- At least five years of service left before retirement

- Medically fit (recent medical report required)

- Relevant qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent (educational background preferred but not mandatory)
