Popular Comedian Bovi Speaks Out Against Bullying: See his reaction to the viral video of Namtira being bull!ed in school
In a recent Instagram post, comedian Bovi Ugboma shared his thoughts on a viral video showing a disturbing incident of bullying.
In the video, a female student, Maryam Hassan, was seen slapping her classmate, Namtira, repeatedly in an attempt to intimidate her.
Bovi expressed his admiration for well-raised and sensitive children in Nigeria, praising those who remain calm and civil even in the face of provocation. He commended Namtira for not reacting aggressively despite being bullied.
He said;
“It gives me great joy to know that we still have well-raised children in Nigeria. Children who are soft, meek, and civil. Children who, under the deadliest of provocation, still keep their calm.”

Bovi also highlighted the need for counseling for the bullied girl to prevent further trauma. He said, “Of importance is the need for the bullied girl to go through some counseling so that every impending trauma is squashed before it develops.”
Addressing the incident where a relative of Namtira slapped the bully in retaliation, Bovi acknowledged the anger and outrage but stressed the importance of non-violent solutions.
He explained, “Lastly, I saw the video of the relative who slapped the bully. She acted in fury, but by the definition of law, she acted in retaliation. While I understand the outrage and her anger, let’s not forget that these are the issues. Slapping somebody across the face is a no no. Nothing civil about it.”
Bovi urged for a change in mindset regarding violence and emphasized the criminality of resorting to jungle justice. He emphasized the need to preach non-violence and civility across the board.
Reacting to the viral video, Writer and Twitter influencer slammed Nigerians over their love for jungle justice. She expressed her displeasure at the treatment of Maryam Hassan, the bully, as she revealed that the whole situation should better still be left in the hands of the authorities.
