Cubana Chief Priest pleads innocent, granted ₦10m bail for alleged Naira Abuse.
Recent reports indicate that Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has pleaded not guilty and received a ₦10 million bail from a prominent Nigerian court.
This comes after his arraignment by the EFCC for alleged Naira misconduct.
The EFCC had scheduled his appearance before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, April 17, for the said misconduct involving the Naira.
Cubana Chief Priest stood before Justice Kehinde Ogundare facing a three-count charge, accusing him of improperly handling Naira notes during a social gathering, which is contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
Okechukwu Pasca is facing charges for allegedly tampering with N500 notes during events in Lagos. These charges stem from incidents in 2020, February 2024, and January 2024, all said to violate a section of the Central Bank Act.
On April 5, the EFCC successfully prosecuted Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, for similar charges, which led to a six-month prison sentence.
Online users have been able to unearth old videos of celebrities, such as Obi Cubaba, making money rain in public. In a widely shared video, Obi Cubana was seen dousing a wedding ceremony in money.
Many of his followers were shocked to learn that the well-known businessman, who also happens to be a former partner of Cubana Chiefpriest, only sprayed dollars at gatherings and not naira.
