On Friday, a Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed a suit filed by three individuals seeking to halt the inauguration on May 29.

Praise Ilemona Isaiah, Pastor Paul Isaac Audu, and Anongu Moses lodged the complaint.

In the lawsuit, the three defendants alleged that Bola Tinubu, the 'President-elect' of Nigeria, provided fraudulent information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding his age and citizenship.

The ruling on the ex-parte application filed by the three individuals seeking to halt Tinubu's inauguration has been set for Friday, pending the resolution of petitions before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

Justice James Omotosho selected the date after hearing the applicant's attorney's arguments.

The issues were whether the court had the authority to hear the case, whether the plaintiffs had standing to file the lawsuit, and whether they intended to protect a legal right through the lawsuit.

However, Justice James Omotosho ruled on Friday that the claim was baseless and an abuse of the court system.

He also stated that the plaintiffs lacked standing to initiate the lawsuit.

The Supreme Court previously dismissed a lawsuit brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking to invalidate the candidatures of Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
